Christine Kiel Endicott is a mother of three and grandmother. She has been married for 30 years and currently resides in Wilmore, KY, working as Director of Conference Services for Asbury University.
I grew up in Southern Indiana as the youngest of three girls. Reading was never one of my favorite activities. I much preferred climbing trees, riding bikes and playing football with the boys in the neighborhood (I was the quarterback). The fact that I have written a book would probably come as a shock to those who knew me then. Always being amongst the shortest of my peers, I learned early on that confidence was my greatest strength. Because it served me well, I wanted to instill that in my children. This confidence and encouragement from my kids pushed me to do something I never thought possible, which is writing this book. Because I am a slow reader who prefers concise information rather than long, flowery descriptions, I tried to write the book so you can find helpful information on nearly every page.
As an average student, I did not decide to go to college until April of my senior year. Thank goodness Ball State University accepted me. Communications became my major because I was uncertain about what I wanted to do in life. I graduated with a minor in marketing and psychology. Dealing with conversation and how people connect with one another interested me. I first worked in Human Resources while living in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1994, I moved to Kentucky and worked in the local school system and for a bank. After staying home with my kids, I was offered a position from a friend who needed someone to help with weddings and events. Event planning and organization has been my career for the past 20 years and I still enjoy creating order out of chaos.
An opportunity to stretch these organizational muscles happened in February of 2023 when I assisted our Asbury University team in hosting the spontaneous Asbury Outpouring consisting of over 50,000 people from all over the U.S. and world. My faith is very important to me as I had a near death experience at the age of six which gave me a true sense of what it was like to be in the presence of the Holy Spirit. I did not speak of this event for many years, but was reminded of this great peace during the outpouring at Asbury. I am happy to share my experience in person, through an interview or in a group presentation. Because of my role as Director of Conference Services at Asbury University, I was able to experience the outpouring in a variety of ways, both as a participant and as an official host. You can read more about the Asbury Outpouring in a book being released February of 2025 entitled Cooperating with the Holy Spirit by Suzanne Nicholson of which I am a contributor.
