For every person, especially parents, who wished kids came with instructions, here is hope! Smartly written, Be A Parent is packed full of insight from real-life experience & generously stocked with grace & humor. Encouraging in style, its practical tips & suggestions are tucked in anecdotally, rather than dispensed as advice. My husband & I expected sound theory & common sense approaches, but the bonus, as we read this book aloud to one another on a recent car trip, was how much we bonded through the genuine conversation it naturally spurred.

We have raised 7 children and the youngest is now a senior in high school. I read through the whole book in one night!!! Loved it! It’s absolutely so practical! A lot of parenting books cause parents to feel guilty and this one does not. Gives space for adapting ideas. I laughed several times as I recognized things we did as well - like the speaking spoon!!. There are sweet and simple ideas in this book and it would make an excellent gift to any parent with children still at home, no matter their age. I’ll incorporate some of the ideas with my grandchildren one day! It is a good book and well written and an easy read!

Loved this book! Perfect for busy parents. Very, very practical and common sense suggestions for bonding with your children. Loved the layout of short chapters with each covering a particular stage in life (infancy, toddler, pre-school, elementary, middle school, and high school). Highly recommend!!
